I. History and Development
Founded in February 2003, College of International Business (CIB), is one of the first Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions approved by the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and the State Ministry of Education. The CIB offers bachelor’s in cooperation with Shenyang Normal University (SNU) and Fort Hays State University in the USA. Founded in 1902, Fort Hays State University is a public university recognized by the Higher Education Administration Council of the North Central United States and one of the foreign universities recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China for granting bachelor’s to overseas universities in China.

II. Faculty and Students
As of now, the CIB offers four undergraduate programs in: finance, marketing, international economy and trade, and logistics management. It has two first-level disciplines in theoretical economics and business administration which authorize the school to recruit academic postgraduate students in the following five programs: political economics, western economics, world economics, business management and accounting. All of the 4 undergraduate programs are listed among the “Provincial First-class Undergraduate Programs”. The school has 4 departments: Finance, International Economy and Trade, Business Administration and Foreign Languages. It also has 4 administrative offices of: Administration, Degree, Student Affairsand Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
As of December 2022, the CIB has had 3,346 undergraduate students now on campus. The Chinese single degree students can get bachelor’s in economics and management, while the Chinese and American double degree students can get bachelor’s in economics and management, BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), BS (Bachelor of Science) and BA (Bachelor of Arts). The American single degree students can graduate with BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), BS (Bachelor of Science) and BA (Bachelor of Arts). The school recruits 20 graduate students each year, and the students will get master’s in economics and management after graduation. The students come from 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country.
There are 94 faculty members in theCIB, 62 of which are full-time teachers. Among them, 31 have doctorates, 33 are professors and associate professors, and 36 have overseas academic experience. The school has 26 graduate instructors, 2 teachers of distinction at the provincial level and 4 at the university level, 1 Hundred-level talent and 2 Thousand-level talents confirmed by the “One Hundred-One Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project” of Liaoning Province. It also has 1 talent confirmed by Shenyang Municipal Leading Talent Project, 1 talent confirmed by Shenyang Municipal Top-level Talent Project, and 16 talents confirmed by Shenyang Municipal High-level Talent Project. There are also 24 foreign teachers in the school.

IV. Academic Research
For the past few years, the CIB faculty members have undertaken 2 national research projects, more than 200 provincial and ministerial projects, more than 30 municipal projects (including horizontal projects). Faculty members have also published more than 70 papers in Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), Science Citation Index (SCI) and other authoritative academic journals, and over 80 monographs, textbooks and works of translation, winningmore than 100 scientific research awards.
The school has 1 Research Base of Liaoning Economic and Social Development and 1 Provincial-level Key New-type Think Tank. The faculty members actively provide services for the decision-making of the Party Committees and governments at all levels and offer suggestions for local economic and social development. They have received 12 approvals from the provincial and ministerial level leaders and more than 10 suggestions have been adopted by deputies of the National People’s Congress and Liaoning Provincial People’s Congress. These suggestions have also been adopted by the Legal Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Liaoning Provincial Department of Small and Medium Enterprises, Liaoning Provincial College Students Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, the Financial and Economic Committee of the People’s Congress of Liaoning Province and other departments. More than 10 suggestions have been published in Consulting Digest, Social Science Think Tank and other internal journals.
V. International Exchange and Cooperation
The school adopts the mode of “4+0” and “2+1+1”. Student exchange programs mainly include Fort Hays State University Exchange Program and Glasgow Caledonian University Intercollegiate Exchange Master’s Program. Since 2020, the school has continued to promote the National Scholarship Council Program of the Ministry of Education, and is currently carrying out the Hungarian Exchange Scholarship Program. In addition, the school annually sends 1-3 teachers to visit American partner schools for one semester, and about 20 students to carry out summer camp activities in American partner schools.
On the basis of deepening Sino-US educational cooperation, the school constantly explores new international exchange programs and improves the level of educational cooperation. It actively promotes the cooperation with the Caledonian University of Glasgow in the UK to carry out the Business Administration Ph.D. program, with the BEM School of Management in Senegal to carry out the international student program, and with Corinth University in the UK to discuss the master’s docking program. At the same time, the faculty members are encouraged to participate in international academic conferences, carry out academic exchanges and research project cooperation, to ensure the international teaching and research level of the faculty is constantly improved.
