I. History and Development

Founded in 2002, the  Software CollegCollegeof Software,has 3 undergraduate programs,SoftwareEngineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, 1cooperative program with aninstitute in Ireland,and 2 graduate programs,Computer Application Technology and Management Science andEngineering. Among them, Software Engineering is the “NationalFirst-class Construction Specialityfor Undergraduate Education”; Computer Science and Technology andNetwork Engineering are “Provincial First-class ConstructionSpecialitiesfor Undergraduate Education”.

Atpresent, the college has 5 departments, including SoftwareEngineering, Network Engineering, Big Data Application, Internet ofThings Application and Computer Science and Technology; and it hasset up centresfor:Practical Education, a Collaborative Innovation, andanIndustrial Technology Research Institute.







II. Faculty and Students

As of December2022, there are 3,812 undergraduates (to be conferred B.E. degree)and 18 postgraduates(to be conferred M.E. and M.S. degree). The students come from 30provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.

Thecollege now has 95 faculty members. Among them, 25 havedoctorates,46 are professors,and10 have overseas academic experience. In addition, the college hasone member of the “Top 100 Talents of Liaoning Province”, one“Provincial Prominent Teacher”, one member of the “10,000Outstanding Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentors of the Ministryof Education”, one “Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher ofColleges and Universities in Liaoning Province”, and 18 “High-levelTalents of Shenyang City”.

  • Themain modulesoftheComputerScience and Technology Normal major include Python Programming,Computer Network Technology, Fundamentals of Education, Fundamentalsof Psychology, Teaching Design of Information Technology in Primaryand Secondary Schools, etc.


The postgraduate program is 3 years, with 42 credits required.

  • Themain modulesoftheComputer Application Technology major include Algorithm Design andAnalysis, Advanced Computer Network, Software Architecture,Information Resource Management and Information System Planning,Internet of Things Engineering.

  • Themain modulesofManagement Science and Engineering major include Algorithm Designand Analysis, Management Theory and Method, Artificial IntelligenceTechnology and Application, Network Security and Application,Advanced Software Development Tools and Technology.


IV. Academic Research

    In the past five years, faculty members have published 149 papers inChinese Social Science Citation Index(CSSCI)CSSCI,Science Citation Index(SCI)SCIand other authoritative academic journals. Asofnow, the college has been approved as the “National IT PracticalEducation Base for College Students of the Ministry of Education”,“Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Information Technology KeyLaboratory of Liaoning Provincial Department of Science andTechnology”, “Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Public ServiceDemonstration Platform of Liaoning Provincial Department of Industryand Information Technology”, “Artificial Intelligence PracticalEducation Base and Modern Industry College of Liaoning ProvincialDepartment of Education”, and “Extended Reality IndustrialTechnology Institute in Shenyang”.


V. International Exchange and Cooperation

The college has cooperated with Dublin Business School to run anundergraduate program of Computer Science and Technology in the “3+1”mode (Ministry of Education Approval No.: MOE21IR2A20212207N). Theprogram is four years and aims to cultivate application-orientedengineering professional and technical talents, who can adapt to thedevelopment of the new generation of information technology inartificial intelligence and big data industry.
