Shenyang Normal University held a ceremony to welcome the national flag of Tiananmen Square and the completion of military training for undergraduate students of the 2025 cohort

On the morning of September 26, 2025, Shenyang Normal University held a grand ceremony at the North Sports Ground to welcome the national flag of Tiananmen Square and the completion of military training for undergraduate students of the class of 2025. School leaders Yang Song, Li Hongjun, Yang Xu, Tong Yuping, Zhao Liqiang, and Tang Libao attended the meeting. Heads of relevant functional departments of the school, party secretaries and deputy secretaries of each college, all new student counselors, and 2025 undergraduate students attended the conference. The conference was presided over by Geng Jiana, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Director of the Student Affairs Office, and Deputy Minister of the Armed Forces Department.

At 9am, the conference officially began with the majestic national anthem, and all teachers and students stood solemnly, watching as the five-star red flag rose slowly and fluttered in the wind. Subsequently, the ceremony welcomed an exciting segment - welcoming the national flag of Tiananmen Square. The school flag guard took a powerful and vigorous step, escorting the national flag with the number 2021-0056 into the venue. This national flag, which was raised on Tiananmen Square on May 21, 2021, the 70th anniversary of the founding of Shenyang Normal University, was gifted to our university by the Tiananmen Area Management Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Government.
The national flag guard raised the flag carrying glory and mission and marched into the student group. Classmates looked up at the bright red flag with reverence and deep affection up close, feeling the revolutionary spirit and the weight of the times it carries. At this moment, the profound historical significance and noble spiritual value contained in the national flag deeply immersed the hearts of the teachers and students present, enhancing national pride, historical mission, and sense of responsibility for the times. Under the witness of the solemn national flag, the commander-in-chief of military training reported to the principal Yang Song on the formation of new students, saying, Hello classmates! You have worked hard! In Yang Song's warm greeting, the 2025 freshmen responded to the earnest care of their teachers with a resounding voice and high spirits. With the command of the commander-in-chief, the formation began. Amidst the passionate music of the March of the Division, the school flag guard team, military training instructor group, and various college phalanxes passed through the podium one by one. The students have neat steps, resolute eyes, and loud slogans, demonstrating strict discipline and vigorous youth.
After the performance, each performing team presented a wonderful display one by one, winning rounds of applause from the entire audience. The queue songs brought by the School of Music are deep and melodious, the tactical exercises of the School of Sports Science are thrilling and realistic, the dagger exercise performance of the School of Tourism Management is agile and sharp, the military martial arts performed jointly by the School of International Business, the School of Fine Arts and Design, and the School of Foreign Languages are strong and powerful, the emergency stick technique of the School of Drama and Arts is vigorous and lively, the assassination exercise of the School of Artificial Intelligence is clean and neat, and the flag exercise When That Day Comes performed jointly by the School of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, the School of Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Mathematics and Systems Science, with neat and infectious movements, pushes the atmosphere of the whole venue to a climax, showing the youthful responsibility of Shen Shi students to the Party, national defense, and striving for success.
