The opening ceremony of the "the Belt and Road" National Biodiversity Conservation Seminar "of the Ministry of Commerce's foreign aid training program was held in our school

On October 14, the opening ceremony of the the Belt and Road National Biodiversity Conservation Seminar sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by our school was held in the Zhixing Building Case Teaching Center. 31 student representatives from six countries including Costa Rica, Jordan, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, and South Africa gathered in Shenyang to jointly open a new chapter of exchange and cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation. Our vice president Tong Yuping attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Officials from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the School of Life Sciences attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Hu Bo, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.


Tong Yuping extended a warm welcome to the students from all over the world, briefly introduced the advantages of the school and the achievements of education opening up, emphasized that relying on foreign aid training, the school continued to share China's practical experience in higher education, basic education, international Chinese education, green ecology and other fields, and was committed to establishing long-term cooperation with the the Belt and Road countries with the training characteristics of small and beautiful, professional and excellent to help local education development, economic revitalization and cultural integration. She stated that this training course will promote the exchange and mutual learning of China's achievements in biodiversity conservation with international colleagues, and deepen the coordinated development of countries in addressing global climate change and ecological practices.


Zhang Yang, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, delivered a speech as a representative of the training teachers. She pointed out that climate change and biodiversity conservation are common challenges for all mankind, and promoting green transformation and achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature has become a global consensus. China has accumulated rich experience in biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration, and is willing to share and cooperate with other countries to jointly enhance global ecological governance capabilities. Students will gain a deeper understanding of China's practices in species conservation and ecological management through course learning and field visits. She looks forward to the training class becoming a platform for ideological collision and mutual learning of experiences, hoping to use this as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and jointly build a clean and beautiful home on Earth.


Ibrahim Ayyash Abdul Samad, Deputy Minister of Fisheries of Maldives, and Kusum KC, Founder and CEO of Swornim Anubhav Pvt. Ltd, spoke as student representatives, expressing sincere gratitude to the organizers for building this high-level communication platform and looking forward to the upcoming 14 day training program. They stated that they will take this training as an opportunity to deepen their professional knowledge, actively expand cross-border cooperation networks, and build bridges of friendship, laying a solid foundation for sustained linkage and common development among countries in related fields.


After the opening ceremony, Tong Yuping gave the first special lecture of the training class to all students on the topic of Overview of China's National Conditions. This course aims to help international students systematically understand the social foundation, cultural context, and contemporary processes of China's development from a macro level, laying a solid background knowledge for subsequent in-depth field investigations and professional exchanges.
